Of Toronto and Dharma

from Out of Oak by Southpaw

about

‘Of Toronto and Dharma’ takes on an entirely new, yet complimentary feel for the EP. It is like the light of early morning. The song plays out a conversation that has only one voice, beautifully crafted by keys and vocals. As the unanswered plea turns to understanding, the other parts come in with such energy that it’s more like a return than their first appearance. The saxophone comes as a vibrant answer to the descending keyboards, and we feel weight of the endeavour this song was conjured from, struggling against bad tendencies and gaining strength as we control our influences.
